PLAN THE PROCESS

Before you begin.

Use this guide to plan the work. Your chosen product’s instructions take priority for preparation, application, drying and curing.

01

Assess the surface

Identify the existing finish, stains, loose paint and repairs. If the coating or surface is uncertain, ask our team before choosing a preparation method.

02

Clear and protect

Move or cover furniture, protect floors and remove fittings that interfere with the work.

03

Clean and repair

Use a cleaner suited to the surface. Allow it to dry, then fill and repair defects according to the repair product’s instructions.

04

Prepare for adhesion

Follow the coating manufacturer’s guidance for sanding or deglossing and removing residue. Keep dust contained with suitable equipment.

05

Prime where required

Choose a primer for bare areas, stains or difficult surfaces. Check compatibility and the required drying and recoat conditions.

06

Plan the finish

Confirm colour, sheen, coverage, coat count and recoat timing from the chosen paint’s label or technical sheet.
