PLAN THE PROCESS

Before you begin.

Use this guide to plan the work. Your chosen product’s instructions take priority for preparation, application, drying and curing.

01

Inspect the wood

Check for damage, loose boards and areas needing repair. Identify the wood type and any existing finish.

02

Choose the finish direction

Compare natural, translucent and solid colour options. Check which finish types are approved for your horizontal or vertical surface.

03

Choose compatible preparation

Select a cleaner or stripping method for the condition of the wood and its existing coating. Follow the manufacturer’s process.

04

Prepare the surface

Complete required sanding or other preparation after cleaning. Remove residue and allow the wood to reach the required condition.

05

Check application conditions

Use the product’s guidance for wood moisture, air and surface temperature, rain and drying time. Plan around the weather forecast.

06

Plan maintenance

Record the product and colour used. Follow its cleaning and maintenance guidance to keep the finish performing.

FROM IDEA TO FINISH

Keep the wood. Plan the finish.

Bring your colour direction, wood surface and preparation together before choosing a complete exterior or interior finish system.
