FROM PREPARATION TO FINISH

Your project sequence.

Use this as a planning guide. The chosen product’s technical instructions determine preparation, application and timing.

01

Check the existing finish

Identify the material and existing coating. Resolve loose coatings, contamination and damage before choosing the primer and finish.

02

Prepare and protect

Clean and prepare using the approved method. Protect surrounding surfaces and remove hardware where practical.

03

Choose compatible products

Confirm the primer and finish are approved for the substrate and intended use. Select a suitable applicator.

04

Work in a sequence

Paint details and recesses first, then broader areas. Follow the grain or profile where appropriate and keep an even coating.

05

Respect drying and recoat times

Do not close a newly coated door or reinstall hardware before the product permits. Temperature and humidity can affect the schedule.

06

Allow the finish to cure

Avoid heavy handling or cleaning during the specified curing period. Keep the product information with your project.
