PLAN THE PROCESS

Before you begin.

Use this guide to plan the work. Your chosen product’s instructions take priority for preparation, application, drying and curing.

01

Assess the slab

Identify old coatings, cracks, contamination and the concrete’s condition. Confirm new concrete has reached the selected system’s requirements.

02

Check moisture requirements

Follow the coating manufacturer’s prescribed testing and limits. Do not choose a coating solely from its colour or sheen.

03

Plan repairs

Choose repair products compatible with the coating system and the type of defect.

04

Create the required profile

Select the specified preparation method and surface profile. Grinding or shot blasting may require specialist equipment and a professional operator.

05

Remove residue

Clean the prepared surface according to the system instructions and confirm it is ready for priming.

06

Plan the full system

Confirm primer, base coat, finish coat and any additives. Review working time, recoat conditions and when the area can return to service.
