01

Check adhesion, corrosion and contamination. Agree the required preparation level before selecting a primer.

03

Clean before preparation

Remove oils, salts and other contamination using the coating manufacturer’s specified method.

Prepare to the required standard

Use the specified mechanical or abrasive preparation and surface profile. Ask a qualified professional about blasting or industrial preparation.

05

Select compatible coatings

Confirm primer, intermediate coat and topcoat compatibility for the intended exposure. Use the manufacturer’s technical guidance.

06

Check the conditions

Review temperature, moisture, application equipment, coat thickness, recoat windows and cure requirements for the selected system.
