SharkSkin® Wood Cleaner & Brightener is a concentrated oxalic-acid cleaner for wood and plastic/wood composite surfaces. It cleans and brightens weathered surfaces and is suitable for maintenance cleaning of wooden decks with sound coatings.
Where to use it
For decks, wood fences and siding. It can also help restore cedar and redwood colour when tannins have risen to the surface after a caustic or alkaline cleaner.
Preparation
Use the dilution, rinsing and protective-equipment instructions on the current manufacturer label.
Application and limitations
Read the product label and safety sheet before use. This brightener is a different preparation step from stripping an existing stain.

No numeric air or surface temperature or rain-free interval is published in the linked manufacturer directions. Keep cleaner wet on the deck, allow 20–30 minutes of working time, scrub and rinse thoroughly. Let the deck dry at least two days in dry weather before staining. This drying wait is for the subsequent stain.
Check the air, the actual surface, overnight conditions and the full drying or curing period. The current product label takes precedence.
