A translucent alkyd basecoat for exterior vertical wood, used beneath ProLuxe 23 Top Coat RE.
Use on properly prepared siding, logs and other vertical wood surfaces. The usual system is one coat of 1 Primary Coat RE followed by two coats of 23 Top Coat RE. SICO also specifies a separate two-coat Primary Coat system for outdoor furniture and fences. Do not use on floors.

Exterior wood siding, logs and vertical wood; outdoor furniture and fences only with the specified Primary Coat system.

Translucent satin
- Coverage
200–300 sq ft per 3.78 L on rough or weathered wood; 250–350 sq ft per 3.78 L on smooth wood or hardwoods, per coat.
- Application method
Brush in the direction of the grain; immediately back-brush any roller or spray application as directed in the technical sheet.
- Drying time
Touch dry: 12 hours; rain/dew resistance: 48 hours; full cure: 7 days at 21°C. Higher humidity and cooler conditions extend drying.
- Recoat time
At least 24 hours at 21°C; allow longer in cool or humid conditions.
